L.J.D.Fernando Memorial Medal

This award is presented to a distinguished geologist/geoscientist in recognition of his/her outstanding contribution to the nation and to the profession. The recipient receives a medal of recognition.

Eligibility

• Senior geologists/geoscientists who have worked for more than 20 years for the country and now on their retirement age (above 60 years of age) are eligible for this award.

• Recipients of the prestigious Ananda Coomaraswamy Medal are not eligible for this award.

• Potential candidates should be identified and selected by the Executive Committee of the GSSL without calling applications or nominations.
